Parent Coaching
Our Parent Coaching program focuses on strengthening the delicate bond between parent and child through an attachment-based approach. This powerful coaching model helps parents shift their focus from managing behaviors to understanding the emotional needs driving those behaviors. Parents will learn to:
- Establish parenting practices that focus on the child’s underlying emotional dynamics rather than behavior.
- Develop effective strategies to respond to maladaptive behaviors that do not undermine the parent-child relationship.
- Identify and meet the unique needs of their children, creating the right conditions for children to grow into their most authentic selves.
- Create an environment of physical, social, and psychological felt-safety.
- Attune to their child’s feelings and accurately communicate them back to their child, preventing tantrums, reducing anxiety, and building emotional resilience.
- Master the IDEAL Response (Immediate, Direct, Efficient, Active, Leveled at behavior, not child).
- Master Levels of Response (Playful, Structured, Calming, Protective).
- Understand the purpose and function survival-based behavior as well as how to support our children in getting their needs met in more attractive ways.
- Master the use of proactive strategies for behavioral change.
Intensive Attachment-Based Parenting
Our Intensive Attachment-Based Parenting program is a 12-week, individualized course that dives deep into the attachment styles of parents and explores how these styles influence their parenting. Unlike traditional parenting classes, this program is tailored to each family’s unique emotional needs, ensuring a personalized, one-on-one experience.
The course is grounded in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), an innovative approach that equips parents and caregivers with the skills to support children who have experienced trauma and attachment disruptions. Key components include:
- Creating an environment of felt-safety and trust for children.
- Understanding and addressing the unique needs and behaviors of children impacted by trauma.
- Applying proactive discipline strategies that foster connection and empower children to thrive.
Through this intensive training, parents and caregivers are guided to transform their approach to caregiving. They learn practical, hands-on strategies that not only address immediate challenges but also build stronger, healing relationships with their children. This approach lays the foundation for the long-term emotional and psychological well-being of both the child and the family.
Our 12-week intensive parenting course takes a different approach than traditional parenting classes, comprehensively exploring the attachment styles of each parent working toward reunification and examining how these styles impact their parenting strategies. Our curriculum is customized to address the specific needs and emotional dynamics of each family, necessitating that the course be conducted on an individual rather than a group basis.
The program utilizes the principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). This innovative approach is designed to equip parents and caregivers with the skills and strategies needed to effectively support children who have experienced trauma and attachment disruptions.
TBRI is grounded in a deep understanding of the complex needs of these children and focuses on developing a nurturing connection, developing proactive discipline strategies, and supporting developmental needs. The program covers key aspects of TBRI, including creating an environment of felt-safety and trust, understanding and responding to children’s unique needs and behaviors, and fostering positive behavioral changes through empowering, connecting, and correcting principles.
Through this intensive training, parents and caregivers are guided to transform their caregiving approach, enabling them to build stronger, more healing relationships with their children. The emphasis is on practical, hands-on strategies that can be implemented in daily life, making it a transformative experience for both the child and the caregiver. This approach not only helps in addressing the immediate challenges but also lays a foundation for long-term emotional and psychological well-being of the child.
