Bonding and Attachment Assessments can be useful to determine the level of security a child experiences with their caregivers as well as the caregivers’ capacity to meet their child’s social, emotional and developmental needs while providing a sense of felt-safety.

Bonding and Attachment Assessments are frequently utilized in Dependency cases when:
  • Assessing best placement for child
  • Providing information for an Adoption Applicant Review
  • Committee (AARC)
  • Providing therapeutic recommendations
  • Considering a change of foster placement
  • Considering reunification
Completing these evaluations typically involves dedicating 10-12 professional hours for assessment, feedback, and report compilation. In cases where two families are assessed, the timeframe may extend to 18 hours to get the fullest picture.
